Due to the continued growth and success of this Client, they are looking to appoint an Associate Structural Engineer who in the future will have ambitions to become a Director within the company. The role will encompass managing projects including allocated resources such as Principal Engineers, Senior Engineers, graduates and technicians. You will be responsible for managing the Structures team within the office on a day to day basis but also provide a mentoring role for the professional and personal development of all engineers and technicians. You will oversee the day to day running of a number of projects, attend project meetings, be the daily contact for the client, contractor and other project consultants and be the technical lead for the design team. This role does involved Business Development, therefore if you have experience with BD already, fantastic, if not, further development will be given. As mentioned above, this role will develop into a Directors role in the near future due to retirement, therefore any Principal Engineers looking for that next step into an Associate role or even an establish Associate, this will be the perfect role for your career.
If you would like to be considered for this role, you will possess a strong Structural or Civil Engineering degree and be Chartered or nearing Chartership with 10 years + experience. You should be able to demonstrate the following points; ~ Strong leadership abilities, especially motivating, coaching staff and communicating a clear vision ~ Strong design capability ~ Ability to set goals and plans to fulfil corporate objectives ~ Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing across all levels in a clear and concise manner ~ Highly developed organisational skills and ability to prioritise ~ Ability to adapt well to changing priorities and situations without a loss of effectiveness ~ Sound judgement, with decisive, consistent and fair decision making ~ Independent, highly motivated self-starter ~ Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines This is truly a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate in time to progress up to Director level within a well established Consultancy.
